Patty Schiener

Patty

e-mail: patricia.schiener@gmail.com

Patricia Sciener was born in Little Washington, Pennsylvania, moved to Wilmington, NC, for several years, and then spent many years teaching Social Studies with a Dept. of Defense Middle School in Europe. She had also taught art to students as an after school activity. Upon retirement she and her husband have since moved to Raleigh, NC, near to where their two sons reside.

Patricia, a self taught artist, has since childhood been drawing and painting, with a special interest in soft pastels. She finds great enjoyment and relaxation in creating and developing her artwork. Nature with its serenity, has been a source of inspiration for her and has greatly contributed to her love of painting landscapes, seascapes, the human form, and animal life. Capturing unusual light is of special interest. Her many travels have also been a great influence upon her work.

Patricia has been juried into several art shows in NC, winning many awards. While residing in Europe she also successfully exhibited her work. Throughout her many travels she has also been inspired to express her feelings and inspirations.

Upon a recent move to Raleigh, NC, she shall continue to paint and find inspiration within her new environment.
